The Utopian girl

Welcome, golden girl from Utopia; hi from earthlings.

I got the letter you sent about the angels. Nice that you are interested in geogamic study. I will be glad to be the guide on your world tour. Watch out for that flight crew, he is dashing towards you.

Prayer

In this part of the world, we start anything with a prayer to Lord Ganesha. Let us do this tour in a traditional and auspicious manner.

He is a smart guy. North Indians know that he is married, twice. However, Ganesha had hidden his martial status to South India. My guess is that he has an eye for a South Indian girl. It is a tough bet with a South Indian girl. All she cares is - the horoscope MUST match (also that 8th square should be empty). Thou the guy may have an elephant head or he is married couple of times, these do not bother her much. So, success of Ganesha depends on effective ways of manipulating his horoscope.

Jai Sri Ramji

As your research involves with monogamy among earthlings, I would take you straight to Sri Ramachandra Maharaj's palace. He is the perfect example quoted for a one-one ideology. A rare thing among gods and kings.

You are lucky to travel at this time, as Sri Ramji had just returned from Lanka. Let us meet him. His wife ... hmmm .. let us put it simple. She had gone hmm ... somewhere, to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Poor guy, after newly married, he was sent to jungle. Had it been with his friends, he would have enjoyed the trek. To intensify the punishment, he had to take his wife and brother. As any girl, she was asking for gold, that too a golden deer. As it happens, that lands into more trouble. A damn damemon picked her up to his country. Ram had to suffer a lot in the search and find (google wasn't available in those days), forming an army out of monkeys etc. Good that he had a great fighting spirit (after marriage effect?), and won against the rakshasha. Only two weeks back they all returned to Ayodhya.

Again their marriage is in a rock. I dont know the exact details, but rumours say that people (who watch many Hindi movies) dont like the rescued heroine to be accepted by the hero. On popular response of the SMS contest, Sita was sent to forest.

My granny used to bless me as, "you should be like Sri Ramachanderji!". I feel it is a curse.

I wouldnt like to visit other gods as you might start hating them.Did I mention the hobbies of the Lord of the Gods, Indra?

Theory of evolution

In Hindu mythology, the evolution of life is personified as avatars of Vishnu. Starting with watery creature, amphibians, then beasty boar, progress is made to half man - half animal, small boy, hunter, farmer, king, king maker etc. Earlier part of the evolution, they had no partners, then they were trying their luck with one - one.

In the line came Sri Rama. We saw his one to one concept and his sufferings. The avatars realized their mistake. They realized the primitive way of thinking. After broadening their views, they refined their thoughts and came up with the last known avatar; fixing all the earlier bugs, the ultra modern social personification ... here I introduce ...

KRISHNA!! man, you rock!!! We are glad that you showed us the path away from sufferings and guided us through everlasting ectasy.
I am eagerly waiting for the last avatar, Kalki. If Krishna had so many partners, let us wait to see the next one. He is supposed to be a slayer. My guess is he is going to chop off all the guys in the world. He will be a single man in all girls' land. hmm .. that is tricky; not sure if that is lucky or would that be pitiable.

History lessons

A pop quiz. Answer short.

Name a monogamous person who may be a king or an ancient time minister, olden days panjayat leader, historic priest, worker in the temple, or a farmer or an artist.

Yes, I can show one from the stone writings I had seen.
His name mentioned there is :
RajathiRaja RajaKesari RajaMarthanda RajaKulaThilaga VijayaParakrama DhushtaSankrasta VimalaAdhithya NarasimhaHamsa VenkataPurana RaghuNandaVaiRagya VaishitaKulathonga Baskaranutha VaraKaraMustika MaathuruBootho VeeraBoopathi ChandrasekaraNruthunga KangeyamKonda VeengiGiriVendra AkilaBhuvanaNayaka MagudaMaguadaAdithipathi Sri Verendra Varaguna Pandiyan, Second

(wooof, let me take a breath)

On reflecting somemore time, it occurs that the following thing might have happened. In those days the litho caligraphers would have charged carving on a per letter basis. As a cost cutting measure, this king would have mentioned the writers, "put my name and any one of my wife's name".

Mathematical proof

I know with the jet lag you have from the Utopian visit, it is difficult to follow up with mathematical equations. I will make it simple.

Is monogamous practical? Let us check with a leading mathematician.

For the sake of discussion, we will assume equal numbers here.
Male = 50%
Female = 50%

As per the monogamous theory, 50% : 50% is the right break up.
However, the data is skewed as the gay population is not taken into account in this calculation.
Let us assume 10% of guys are gays (optimistic). These 10% will lure another 10% guys into their vicious net, as the original 10% need guy partners to acheive their purpose.
=> 10% + 10% = 20%
20% guy population implies 10% of the total population. ie,
10% + 40% against 50% of female
Once you match 40% (most of the time) straight guys with 40% female, we are left over with 10% female. (ie 50% - 40% = 10%)

The government would have to come up with effective campion to convert those 10% into nuns or lesbians. I doubt if any goverment has such plans in near future.

Therefore, we need to somehow convince 10% (of the original population) out of 40% guys to come out of their "primitive" mindset of one to one. We need to provide sufficient incentive for them to consider another girl other than his wife.

Ya, it is a tough task we have ahead, that is to convince a guy to go through another trouble. But we have to do it as the world should be saved.

Modern society
Being in the isolated world of Utopia, I guess you have missed out the social norms here. For the highness purpose, I am blogging couple of cases. You may start with Romeo and Juliet, then with the court case.

btw, while talking about court, do you know that the supreme court had passed a suggestion to other courts in order to refrain from issueing divorce? The number of divorce had shooted up sharply. As a measure, court would like to delay the hearings and put their maximum effort to convince the couple to live together. For what?, to quarrel till life time?

That brings another interesting line of thoughts. If a majority of people in a society are forced to lead a life with a partner they dont like to be with, wouldn't that lead to mass adultry? Let us wait and watch.

Golden girl : " All Men are Flirts ?!"
well, depends.
On how you define flirts.

It is a very nice meeting with you, lady. It should be fascinating to be at Utopia. What a peaceful and happy life it should be with all the virtues you follow there. Once in a while, please come down to earth to realize the reality.

Thanks for the post. But I cannot see a valid substantiation throughout the whole post. Just because Rama suffered, it would n't mean that devoted husbands always suffer. He was a king and had to respect public sentiments. But remember he did that because his wife was away from him for sometime, which raised a question of her chastity. Will it mean that only wives have to chaste? Krishna was not a real character..he was an image of man's unfulfilled fantasies...and above that he was an avatar which made him a super-man who cud face any problems. So...definetly he is not an example which common man shud follow. Coming to your misleading mathematical equations...you seem to have omitted on the lesbian populations. I wud also want to draw your attention to one of the problems the world wud be facing in a couple of decades esp. a country like india in which female children are not welcome...it is a female population far far less than than the male populatiuon. This is fact..not maths. So..i feel that this post itself is little unrealistic just written to support the case for polygamy which is I am afraid is very unsuccesful

Learning the way of life from Hindu Gods, Think again !

Few addons JB, :)

Sri Rama

After killing the rakshasa (daemon) Ravana, and winning back his wife Sita, Sri Rama suspected his wife for .....hmm.....ah..... possibly forgetting one-one function during her stay in Lanka. (He suspected as though he saw a MMS) Did he suspect Sita with daemons? Well, not sure, might also be the monkey who was eager to visit her. Coz, the monkey that can jump an ocean, burn Lanka with its tail, bring a mountain in its palm, could just jump back with Sita. But the monkey din't, may be it guessed Rama would use the monkey (don’t pause here, I didn’t put a period after word 'monkey' ) as a means of communication, and the monkey would enjoy its journey to and fro, burning cities, uprooting trees. Well, that’s a monkey

Anyways, he suspected her and wanted her to jump into fire and said that the fire won't burn her if she never violated one-one. Rama knew that a combustible material, supporter of combustion and heat are necessary and sufficient for combustion. Well, all were right there, Sita jumps into fire, but she didn’t burn! Why? That means she was loyal!

Dude, take another guess. Rama missed one BIG point. He had a MOTHER-IN-LAW !!! MIL saved her! Then, let alone an ideal king, far from an ideal human, like a rogue, Rama drove her to forest. Later her kids defeated Rama in the Ashwa Medha Yaga ( I guess) and every one believed, who other than Rama's kids can defeat him.
What ever makes them happy (Indians want a happy ending). The End.

Sri Krishna

Let me start by saying, what the .... is that "Sri" for. Born a thief, sly by profession and sadist in actions. God wanted to demo an ideal man using "Rama" (unsuccessful though), but what's this thing for? Well, just to set the bar for flirting, Godly flirting. May be He wanted His share of fun too. He set it real high, 16,001 (One was Radha his well known gf, no-one remembers the other 16,000)

Just to look at some numbers, say he started flirting by the age of 17 ( JB's age ), even if he had a new girl every day for 43 years ( until he's 60 ) he would still be left with 305 of them. Not sure if all 16001 volunteered. That’s the answer if you ever asked "What can God do ?". Not sure if that explains why most girls are God fearing.

Well, he was cursed by Gandhari that his entire family tree will die (Just like her's did). This turned out to be a boon to us. Just imagine if each of those 16001 had just 2 kids and just one inherited his character, it would have been like disaster unleashed!

By saying 2 kids I have totally under-estimated the situation those days. For example, Kunthi had 5+1 children, you know, that 1, that was just to check if she can, the remaining 5 were to prove she could. It was that one ( Karna ) who sacrificed his life for the life of his five brothers ( Refresh your Mahabharata to know how), better known as the Pancha Pandavas. The Pancha Pandavas who shared every thing ( 1 : 5 ).

Gandhari had 101 ( Not 100 + 1) children. Why 101? May be to set a record, may be Kunthi just teased her saying "Ahh, your husband is blind :D " She blind-folded herself too! Isn't that pro? Did she obey one-one? Let’s just get away with it by saying she loved challenges.

Coming back to THE SLY, I know what you want to know about Him....... how he was..... what on earth did he eat to reach that 16,001 target. Well, I don't know. His birth was no less a miracle though. Kamsa ( Krishna's uncle ) was informed ( by some other God ) that his sister's ( Devaki's ) 8th kid would kill him. Why was he informed? Just to keep him informed so that he could take appropriate action.

He did take action, locking both his Devaki and her husband Vasudeva in the same cell at a reachable distance but in shackles ( not a fantasy those days )
Devaki and Vasudeva very well knew that Kamsa would kill each of their kid ( At least after he did so with couple of them ) right in front on their eyes smashing them against the wall but, no, they reached their target - 8. Hence THE FLIRT was born.

Well, Krishna was one of the major sly ( other one was Shakuni ) responsible for the mighty war. After which, Ganga cursed THE FLIRT that he would die a bad death like her 7th son ( She killed other 6 by dropping them in the river after their birth ) called Bheeshma . Hence the FLIRT died with an arrow piercing his ….. ok, leg. That’s what’s said. The End. ( Btw, that was a happy ending ! at least to 16,001 )

Talking about MIL, imagine 16k+ MIL for Krishna!! Apart from managing 16k+ gf, MIL part is too much to handle.

Definetly he is a superman.
